Yu Ai Kai’s 45th Anniversary Celebration

One of San Jose’s Japantown treasures is the Japanese American senior center, Yu Ai Kai. We celebrated it’s 45th anniversary with an evening gala of festivities including entertainment by the San Jose Taiko, ukelele performance by Hawaiian native, Herb Ohta, Jr. and keynote speaker, gold medalist U.S. Figure Skating champion, Kristi Yamaguchi. It was an opportunity to thank the community that has played an important and vital role in their vision to empower seniors to age well and thrive in our community.

The theme of “bridging Generations” reflects the hope that younger generations will be inspired by this community spirit to bring their energy and ideas to keep Yu Ai Kai’s vision vibrant for the next 45 years and beyond!
