Is a Multigenerational home right for you?
In the video we cover the reasons why this type of home is a growing trend in the United States! There are many reasons why multigenerational living lifestyle works for many families, especially here in the SF Bay Area where housing is limited.
By combining assets families can buy into a bigger home, here are a few ideas: 1) buy new construction home with universal design, and/or buy into a 55+ community with unique property features 2) buy a pre-existing home making sure the bottom floor is for those that have limited mobility and renovate the shared areas for community efficiency 3) build an Accessory Dwelling Unit (commonly know as an ADU or casita or “granny unit” in the backyard).
With CA SB 9 any SFH can divide their lot to build a legal ADU to help with the housing shortage in the state of California. Call me to set up a buyer or seller consultation to discuss your specific needs. I’m always happy to help!
